Letter from the Merry Hill Ward Chair– Dr Paul Darke.
We in the Labour Party have a new Leader in Keir Starmer. A lot of people see Keir Starmer as the man to win the next election. Although he was not my personal choice it is the responsibility of all members to support the Leader in order to achieve the best possible result in any future election. Our next election is the Local Elections of May 2021, when we, in Merry Hill, hope to retain the seat for our only Labour Councillor. I hope you will come out and support us. Merry Hill is, in essence, a conservative ward but, given the nightmare that the Conservatives are unleashing on the middle classes, Merry Hill should be a key target ward for us to retain and build on for the future.
England, and the Midlands, in particular, have been badly hit by the Covid-19 negligence of the Conservative Government. Remember, the only thing worse than the idea that the Conservatives do not know what they are doing is the realisation that they know exactly what they are doing. When you are seen as a ‘Herd’ perhaps it is time you think about voting for a party that sees you as a human being with a plan to ensure that no one is left behind.
