Park is so named because it contains three parks: West, Compton and Bantock. It is bounded by the Ring Road, Horden Road and Merridale Road, Finchfield Road and the canal. It contains the three secondary schools on Compton Park and four junior schools: St Jude’s, The Giffard, St Andrew’s and West Park. The City of Wolverhampton College is in the ward, as is the commercial and retail centre of Chapel Ash.
Key issues in Park include crime, transport, and tax.
Park is a strong Labour ward.
Park Branch Labour Party has a total of 194 members. An active membership of over 30 newsletter deliverers, 30 plus telephone and door canvassers makes for a strong campaigning team working at the ward and constituency level. New additions to any of the activities are always welcome—support and guidance provided.
Branch meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Vauxhall Tenants Room, Upper Vauxhall. All members and registered or affiliated supporters are welcome at meetings. Meetings are an opportunity to agree on local campaigning, to propose motions to the Constituency Labour Party, to discuss policies and hear from & question our local councillors.
The Branch Secretary is Amanda Bevan, who can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07771 958187.
